2017

From The HeartSeasons

Here we are at the end of the year. And here we are at the beginning of yet another one. One set of opportunities is passed and another lies before us. I’m not big on New Year’s resolutions, but I do find it a good time for reflecting on what has taken place over the last year. A good time for setting some goals for the future. Take a few minutes with me and let’s see where we’ve been and where we’re going.

Evaluate

Take a few moments to look back at 2016 and give ourselves an honest evaluation of where we are in life. How are we doing physically, spiritually, and mentally? Let’s look at three things about the habits we have in these areas of our life. Let’s set some goals for the future and evaluate our habits.

Emulate

What habit have you maintained over the last year that you feel has contributed most to your overall health? What can you do to maintain that habit? Can it be improved?

Eliminate

What is that habit you have that is most damaging to your well-being? Eliminate it. Stop it. Seriously…kick it to the curb.

Establish

Don’t leave a void where that habit you eliminated can reestablish itself. Fill that void with something beneficial. What is a behavior that you need to modify? What is a simple step that you can make part of your routine that will begin to lead to better health…challenge your mind…strengthen your faith?

Let’s set some goals and lay out a plan to reach those goals one day at a time.

Happy New Year!

Mike
